This book describes the authors lifelong search for health and the result is a wonderful resource for all of us on successful food substitutions! I too am believer that food substitutions result in a higher success rate for people making changes in their lives and Sue shares with us what has worked for her and may work for us!
This book is amazing! Dealing with food sensitivities and allergies can be so frustrating. Susan has given wonderful suggestions for delicious swaps. She has done all the leg work for you so you don't have to spend tons of time through trial and error and great amounts of frustration trying to figure out what works. I think this book is a must for anyone dealing with issues with food whether it's for themselves, a family member and even friends. The recipes she shares are so delicious! What a great tool to have on hand especially when you have a guest coming over who can't eat certain things.

In my work in holistic health, I often deal with clients who suffer from food allergies, not knowing where to start and frustrated with the lack of options they have. Sue's book provides simple, practical and healthy solutions for their favorite foods so rather than feel restricted, those who suffer from allergies can feel like they have a wealth and variety of tasty options. Highly recommended, a must read!
Similar to the author, I suffer from multiple food allergies as do my family members. I enjoyed reading her personal story and could relate to the challenges of living with a restricted diet and finding ways to substitute allergens in many recipes. this book gave me a lof of new ideas for substitutions that I hadn't thought of trying before. I consider this an invaluable resource to have at my disposal. It would make a great gift for family and friends who are transitioning to an allergy-free diet as well as for those who like to experiment with healthy or unusual ingredients into their recipes. There is also a lot of helpful general information here. This book is a good investment.

This book is a great resource for allergy-friendly ingredient substitutions, particularly if you are managing food allergies or sensitivities to gluten, dairy, soy, or nuts. What I like most about this book is that Susan not only gives you ideas for substitutions but she also explains why some ingredients work better than others. This really helps you to feel more confident experimenting in the kitchen. This is a good reference for those who are bored with eating the same things or people who just want to spice up their menu.
If you have either been diagnosed with a food allergy or would like to avoid gluten or other allergens, this is a must have book! Starting with Susan's life journey with food allergies and all she learned along the way to practically every food/ingredient substitute under the sun. A very thorough and thoughtful knowledge-share of what any allergy-free cook would need to know in the kitchen. From how these new ingredients behave in recipes, to the most effective kitchen equipment to posses and tips on how to best use it. To top it all off, she has included dozens of her own tested tasty recipes, allowing the reader to get started on the path to allergy free food immediately. Thus allowing the reader to truly love their food once again!
